“15 years ago, I had cancer and the doctor told me I should start making plans. I made funeral arrangements, my will, everything. The kids were away at college and I didn’t want them to worry about me. So when I came home, I was completely alone. But, when I told my two neighbors about the cancer, they came over every morning, noon and night to make sure I had food, was comfortable, and had someone to talk to. They would even drive me to my doctor appointments and wouldn’t let me call a taxi.
That’s something you’ll never forget.”
